Join TJMHC for the first of a two-part dinner dialogue series with Jews for a Secular Democracy. This first night will explore the long arc of immigration in the United States and the ways it has shaped both American democracy and American Jewish, Christian, and interfaith life. Through shared texts, brief framing remarks, and facilitated table conversation, we will examine major waves of immigration, the pressures and promises of assimilation, and the gap between popular narratives about immigrants and the historical record.

In America's 250th anniversary year, this evening asks what it has meant to seek refuge, belonging, and citizenship here, and how those questions still shape our democracy today.
