Zum Gali Gali is one of the few Hebrew folk songs that may be familiar to non-Jews. Though it appears in children's songbooks around the world, going back to the 1930s, its origins are largely unknown. Folk musician Ted Warmbrand has spent years researching this popular tune, and he's eager to share what he's learned.

Ted Warmbrand is a folk musician who uses songs to build community, protest injustice, and bring joy to those around him. Warmbrand grew up in an Ashkenazi Jewish family in New York City, where he learned to sing old country songs from his parents and developed a deep respect for his historical roots. He found a similar respect for heritage across cultures in folk music, which offers people a common sense of belonging.
